Per the Quality Growth Council 8-10-2016 during Q&A with Wood and Harrell
Since 2013, the Henry County Board of Commissioners has transferred $1.7 million from the Henry County building department to county’s general operating fund. According to the official code of Georgia, (annotated 48-13-9a & b-1) local governments are not authorized to use regulatory/permit fees as a means of raising revenue for general purposes, the operating fund. The law goes on to state, provided the amount of regulatory fees shall approximate the reasonable cost of the actual regulatory activity, the building department activity performed by the local government, knowing that other jurisdictions have done the same and lost costly judgments when legally challenged, how would you as commission chair address this infraction of state law?
The above is all nonsense. This group is a blight on all the citizens of Henry County. The real name should be The Council to Seal from Henry County. They are just a horrible as the Development Authority. A big load of fake outcomes.
